You know you are a Hyderabadi when

Indian city Hyderabad  has recently been ranked as the second best place in the world that one should see in 2015, by The Presidio of San Francisco in the US. Of course it is great news to every proud Hyderabadi! This city is beautiful & amazing in its own unique way. It has beauty, rich culture & is modern while holding it's tradition close to its heart. Here are 10 funny but true facts about Hyderbad & if you are a fellow Hyderabadi then you will know exactly what I am talking about ;p

You know you are a Hyderabadi when...

1. When you hear 'Baigan' (Brinjal/egg plant) not just at the sabji mandi. If you have A for apple then we have B for baigan! 

 

2. When Autowalas say that their meter is not working. 

No matter which day it is, what time it is, which autowala it is...you hear one thing from them constantly!! 

Their meters almost never work & they ask you to pay double the money to take you to your destination!


Another one for autowalas...

When autowalas say..udar se khali aana padta maidum...50 rupaye zyada diyo!

When ever you want to get a ride to or from anywhere, the autowalas are always worried that they have to return back without a passenger & try to make you pay extra for that!

3. When Hau, nakko, kaiku, Kiraak is only understood by you.

4. When the whole room becomes silent when someone says they have never had Hyderabadi Biryani.

5. When a boy is called potta & a girl is called potti.

6. When 'Marfa' is played no matter how posh or cheap the wedding is.

7. When you gotta get your bangles from Charminar.

Bangle heaven!!!

8. When you label irritating people as 'Dimaakh Kharaab'.

9. When you say 'light liyo ustaad' no matter how major the situation is.

10. If you have smiled and recalled similar incidents in your life while reading this!

Hope you enjoyed my little funny take on Hyderabad. I love my city & I know no matter where you come from, once you visit Hyderabad, you just will fall in love with it!
