3 Indo-western styles to steal from Kareena Kapoor

This is the time of festivities & celebrations in India. Dussehra (celebration of Good winning over Bad) followed by Diwali (Festival of lights). Both my favorite festivals actually. One thing a lot of Indians love doing around this time along with eating sweets is shopping for Indian ethnic wear. I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you guys 3 different looks you can wear to an event, family party, college or any occasion this festive season.

One of the places I get my fashion inspiration from, as you all know is Bollywood. Kareena Kapoor, from the most influential family in Bollywood, has been undoubtedly one of the top heroines for almost a decade. She has grown tremendously as an actor and so has her fashion sense. She is also one of the actresses who can carry Indian ethnic wear so gracefully. So, here are 3 different looks seen sporting by Kareena Kapoor.

The elegant desi girl

Salwar kameez is of course a staple in any Indian wardrobe. It has been invented & reinvented and the process still goes on. I particularly love the one Kareena Kapoor is wearing here by the designer Payal Singhal. A simple straight kurta, patiala and a dupatta with contemporary design. It looks very classy.

A little bit of this & that

Mixing westen with Indian wear has a charm on it's own, like the one Kareena is wearing here.

The Stylish Diva

The one piece which stands out in this outfit is the Jacket. This is another interesting way of incorporating Indian wear into your daily wear.

Instead of a jacket you can even add a nice dupatta ( a scarf worn with salwar-kameez or churidar) as a scarf. I personally love doing this. I have many dupattas in my closet & love matching them up with my daily western wear. Keep the rest of your outfit clean and simple and let the jacket or the scarf be the focal point.

I am sure if you are Indian, you will find many such dupattas in your wardrobe. If you are looking to buy custom made scarves like this message me at sushmareddystudio@gmail.com

This would be perfect for fall too. What do you guys think? Go shop your wardrobe & pull out all the dupattas and mix & match them this weekend!

So, if you are looking for some new ways to flaunt your traditonal wear I really hope this helps you. Also, please let me know how would you guys incorporate your traditional wear, from wherever you are, into your daily wear? you can mail me your pictures too at sushmareddystudio@gmail.com

Thanks so much much for stopping by beautiful. Have a great day.
